Moonlighting, the practice of holding multiple jobs simultaneously has become increasingly prevalent in the modern workforce, especially in high-demand industries like IT. The research aims to investigate how engaging in secondary employment affects employees' emotional attachment, loyalty, and commitment to their primary organization. Using a survey-based approach, data were collected from IT employees working in various companies within the National Capital Region (NCR). The study employs a purposive sampling technique to select participants who are involved in moonlighting while maintaining full-time employment in the IT sector. Statistical tools such as correlation analysis and regression modeling were used to examine the relationship between moonlighting and key dimensions of organizational commitment, including affective, normative, and continuance commitment. The findings of this study will offer valuable insights into how moonlighting influences employees’ attitudes towards their employers and contribute to understanding the broader implications for HR practices, employee engagement, and organizational outcomes in the IT industry. Ultimately, the research aims to provide recommendations for managing moonlighting and fostering greater organizational commitment among IT professionals.
2024-12-02T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Arnneka, Dr. Nisha https://ftp.agpegondwanajournal.co.in/index.php/agpe/article/view/395 MEDIA PROPAGANDA TO PORTRAY MISOGYNY AND GENDER INEQUALITY IN GULF 2024-11-24T11:00:20+00:00 Shahi Shaika shahisam11@gmail.com
Media across the globe has been portraying women in the Gulf as oppressed by the male counterparts and guided by the strict rule of Sharia (Islamic Law). The women are judged as open-minded or conservative depending upon how western their dress code, outside appearance are, and on how western their thoughts are, which isn't exceptionally sensible since numerous liberal Muslims hold their religious beliefs that fit their way of life and culture. The present study is based on the practice widely used by journalists to superimpose western ideology as an overlay. If a Muslim woman holds certain opinions that are not at par with the Western culture, she is portrayed as backward, regardless of how profoundly emphatic, educated or independent she is; at the end of the day, women are not judged on how they fit inside their own cultures as they would fit in Western culture. Moreover, as much as most of the reports attempt to accomplish balance in the story to consent to editorial conventions of news creation, some journalists still end up focusing on one side; for the most part, it is the negative, stereotypical viewpoint that is accentuated. But generally, most of the coverage outlines the Muslim women as a victim, a sexual object, and furthermore as voiceless. This paper explores the portrayal of misogyny and gender inequality in the Gulf region by Western media. Through a critical analysis of key news articles, documentaries, and media narratives, it examines how the media in the West has framed the Gulf countries, particularly Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, and Kuwait, as centers of gender discrimination. The research considers the role of cultural biases, geopolitical interests, and sensationalism in shaping these narratives, as well as the impact they have on global perceptions of the region. Additionally, it highlights the complexities and nuances within Gulf societies that are often overlooked by Western media outlets, offering a more balanced perspective of gender dynamics in the region.
2024-12-03T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Dr. Shahi Shaika https://ftp.agpegondwanajournal.co.in/index.php/agpe/article/view/398 CIVIL SOCIETY IN INDIA: AN EVALUATION 2024-12-10T07:53:06+00:00 Firdous Rahaman firdousmngs@gmail.com
Civil society is a kind of organizations and associations that serve to the public’s needs but operate from the outside of governmental and corporate spheres. Theatre worldwide has long been a tool for revealing societal truths and inspiring audiences to act for social change. In India, folk theatre has communicated themes of oppression and misuse of power, shaping a new understanding of social realities. Beyond simply informing audiences about injustices, it urges them towards immediate action. Folk theatre in India has addressed both social and political issues; while socially it may highlight community issues without directly challenging authority, politically, it often critiques or supports certain ideologies (Kumar, 2000). In the 1930s, forms like Jatra, Nautanki, and Tamasha were adopted by activists to discuss socio-political topics, making a strong impression on audiences. Artists such as Bijon Bhattacharya, who staged the play Nibanna in 1944 to highlight worker exploitation and Safdar Hashmi, regarded as the father of street theatre in India, used this medium to address political and social concerns. Similarly, Habib Tanvir, Utpal Dutt, and Kashmiri artists like Ghulam Ali Majboor utilized folk theatre to encourage socio-political awareness. This paper employs a descriptive and qualitative approach, analyzing secondary sources such as books, journals, and research papers, supplemented by internet research.
2023-12-28T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 shahi shaika, Abdul Fahad
